Roots is a collection of creative works submitted and selected as longer-form works from Honours or Masters creative writing theses at Deakin University. The anthology was developed by a team of Deakin student editors and designers (of which I was part), and showcases the exceptional writing of Deakin students, in both fiction and poetry forms. 

From post-apocalyptic worlds, haunting Australian landscapes, and culturally rich family ties, Roots is a memorable and engaging collection of works, spanning fiction and poetry, that showcases the best of the Deakin Post Graduate creative writing program.

Perfect Proof  created content for The Play Factory Playgroup/s website, together with a thorough copyedit and proofread. 

This website editing project included identifying and understanding the Play Factory's audience, highlighting connections between topics, creating readable content, and using effective means to inform visitors on business details such as location, services, price etc.  

Accuracy and consistency were paramount for both functionality and visual elements. Perfect Proof ensured consistency across the entire website: from navigation to page layouts to typography to branding.

• First read: Familiarise myself with the content.
• Second read: Does the layout work logically? Is the branding clear and appropriate to audience. Take notes.
• Line edits: Work through your notes as you go through each part of the website. Tighten up the sentences, focus on language, ensure accuracy of information provided, and offer suggestions.
• Formatting: Adhere to the style guide and specific branding for The Play Factory Playgroup. Make sure the branding is consistent. 
• Proofread: Do a final read-through to  ensure there are no errors, both within the text and the visuals, and all information is accurate and true.

Improving the overall readability allowed for more accessible content, thereby improving  traffic and conversion online for this not-for-profit.
